How this works

Picture an average day of gambling on a trip. Not the day you hit a big jackpot and played for eight hours straight, and not the day you lost $500 in twenty minutes and went back to the hotel room. Picture a typical day. That's what we're calculating — your estimated daily theoretical loss: the amount a casino expects to profit from your play on an average day.

Casinos use this number, often called your Theo, ADT (Average Daily Theoretical), ADW (Average Daily Worth), or MDV (Maximum Daily Value), to decide what comps you receive and which invitation-only tournaments to extend to you. Answering the questions below will give you a reasonable estimate.

How to Improve Your Casino Rating

1
Always use your player's card — Even on short sessions. The casino can only rate play they track. If you forget your card, ask a floor supervisor to add credit after.
2
Consolidate your play — Split play is worth less to each individual casino. A player who spends 100% of their action at one property is worth far more than one who splits across five properties, even at the same total volume.
3
Ask for a host — Once you have consistent play at a property, proactively request a host relationship. Visit the host desk, introduce yourself, mention your player's card number, how often you visit, and that you'd like to discuss your comp situation. Most hosts are happy to connect.
4
Consistent repeat visits matter — A player who visits monthly is more valuable to a casino than one who visits twice a year with the same total Theo. Frequency signals loyalty.
5
Your wins and losses don't affect your rating — The casino tracks your rated theoretical loss, not your actual results. You can leave up $1,000 and still earn full Theo credit for a session. Your comp value is based on how you play, not how lucky you are.
6
Know your numbers — Understanding your estimated Theo (which this calculator provides) puts you in a stronger position when discussing comps with a host. You can have an informed conversation rather than guessing.
